Repiping in Sammamish and the Eastside: partial or whole-home, copper or PEX
Repiping is the last resort, not the first quote. If you are on your third pinhole leak in two years, or the house still has grey polybutylene or 1970s galvanized, replacing the failing runs is cheaper than chasing leaks. We often repipe one zone — the hot side, the crawlspace, one bathroom stack — rather than the whole house.
What we handle
- Pinhole leak assessment and partial repipes
- Polybutylene (grey pipe) replacement
- Galvanized supply line replacement
- Whole-home copper (Type L) or PEX-A
- Crawlspace and attic runs
- Main water line from meter to house
- Drywall access and patch via Puget Sound Property Services
Partial before whole
Corrosion is rarely uniform. Hot-side copper fails first; crawlspace runs freeze first. We camera-inspect and pressure-test, then quote the zone that is actually failing. A whole-home repipe is the right call when the material itself is the defect — polybutylene, galvanized — not when one run went bad.
Copper or PEX
Copper for exposed runs and resale optics; PEX-A for fewer joints and freeze resilience. Most Eastside repipes are hybrid: copper stub-outs, PEX in the walls. Two to three days for a typical house, water back on every night.
Questions we get
Do I need the whole house done?
Usually not. One failing zone is a one-day job. Polybutylene or galvanized throughout is the case for whole-home.
How much drywall?
Strategic access cuts, patched and textured by our sister company. Paint-ready when we leave.
